Why the Long-Term Retreat?

Bodhidham’s Long Term Retreat is intentionally designed to allow the spiritual teachings to sink in gradually to achieve real change with time, repetition, and space. We promote self learning through the rhythm of daily life. When you enroll in our Long Term  Retreat, over weeks and months, you will start to experience the following transformations:

  • Physical healing with daily movement, fresh Ayurvedic meals, and rest

The Rhythm of Ashram Life

Our Long Term Retreat follows a structured yet spacious daily itinerary that blends ancient practices with modern mindfulness. These practices are targeted to assist you in moving through your days in harmony with nature, your breath, and your heart.

Morning Routine ( 5:30 am to 8:00 am)

  • 5:30 AM – Wake up & Silence Practice
    Since the early morning time before the sun rises is sacred for grounding into your body and soul, you’ll begin your day in silence while waking up with awareness.

  • 6:00 AM – Guided Meditation & Pranayama
    Our experienced instructors initiate with guided meditation & Pranayama  focused on breathing and expanding awareness to awaken subtle energies. You’ll be taught the ability to follow this ritual by yourself in the following days within the retreat and beyond.

  • 7:00 AM – Classical Yoga & Movement Practice
    You’ll be involved in learning classical yoga & movement practice that includes gentle flows, and intuitive movement rooted in morning prayer and yogic wisdom, aligned with individual breath, capacity, and energy.

  • 8:00 AM – Light Breakfast
    Our light breakfast comprises a gourmet, nourishing, sattvic meal with a warm cup of chamomile herbal tea. Furthermore, we promote practicing silent meals and being fully connected with gratitude for the energy you’ll be ingesting.

Daytime Activities ( 9:00 am to 12:30 pm)

  • 9:00 AM – Spiritual Discourse & Teachings
    You’ll be enlightened with knowledge of ancient yogic philosophy, practical spiritual tools, and open inquiry. More importantly, each talk is based upon experience.

  • 10:30 AM – Self-reflection & Journaling
    We promote journaling for breaking the silence and modelling a mirror to your soul, helping resolve spiritual queries effectively.

  • 11:30 AM – Walking Meditation or Nature Immersion
    We reintroduce you to nature and help reconnect with it by letting you step barefoot on the earth and walk slowly, simply considering walking meditation to listen deeply and accept nature immersion for learning.

  • 12:30 PM – Nourishing Lunch & Rest
    It’s time for a wholesome lunch that is simple, sattvic, and healing, followed by free time to rest, reflect, or sip on chamomile herbal tea.

Afternoon Sessions ( 2:00pm to 4:30 pm)

  • 2:00 PM – Deep Meditation or Mantra Chanting
    You’ll have a choice of joining a silent sitting, indulging in deep meditation, or a mantra chanting circle as per your preference or need.

  • 3:30 PM – Spiritual Discussions or One-on-One Guidance
    It is time for group discussions focused on spirituality, inviting honest sharing and spiritual query exploration. Additionally, one-on-one private guidance sessions are available for gentle support.

  • 4:30 PM – Karma Yoga or Sewa – Service to Others
    This session of the day is focused on allowing you to understand the concept of selfless service, that is, Karma Yoga, proven to help dissolve ego boundaries and root an individual in presence.

Evening Reflection (6:00 pm to 9:30 pm)

  • 6:00 PM – Light dinner in Silence
    You’ll be taught to practice a healthy habit of consuming a light dinner in silence.

  • 7:00 PM – Sunset Meditation & Gratitude Practice
    A yogic lifestyle is always being grateful; hence, as the sun sets, we gather to honor the day with sunset meditation and gratitude practice.

  • 8:00 PM – Satsang, Group Sharing & Reflection
    It involves fostering authentic connection in sacred silence or shared wisdom.

  • 9:30 PM – Lights Out & Rest
    Practicing punctuality in sleeping early and having an effective rest is very essential for the body, mind, and soul to recharge and recover

Weekly Healing & Integration

In addition to the above daily planned itinerary, Long Term Retreat includes a weekly healing energy session or Ayurvedic massage therapy, assisting the body in releasing and rejuvenation. It is important to note that Saturdays are reserved for rest, integration, and personal reflection.
